About the Indiana State Board of Accounts (SBOA):
The Indiana State Board of Accounts provides the citizens of the State of Indiana with confidence in the integrity and financial accountability of state and local government. The SBOA is statutorily responsible for performing financial and compliance engagements of the state and its agencies, universities, counties, cities, towns, townships, schools, libraries, special districts, and certain non-profits. It also performs federal single audits, including units receiving federal American Rescue Plan (ARP) and Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) dollars, and special investigations into allegations of misappropriation. In addition, the SBOA provides public official training and ongoing fiscal guidance; promulgates systems of accounting and financial reporting; prescribes uniform compliance guidelines, directives, standards, and forms for all units of government; recommends and reviews government internal controls; and conducts election recounts ordered by the Indiana Election Recount Commission.
Role Overview:
The GTAC Attorney supports the Government Technical Assistance and Compliance (GTAC) team. GTAC provides training and guidance to local government units, including: 1) counties, 2) cities and towns, and 3) schools and special districts. The team is also responsible for drafting Uniform Compliance Guidelines and implementing legislative changes. You will engage with various government officials and be a resource for SBOA for legal questions, legislation, procurement, and other issues that arise.

The minimum salary for this position starts at $67,314.00 with 1-5 years of experience or $85,020.00 with 5+ years of experience when admitted to a state bar. Salary may be higher, commensurate with education or work experience.
