ASSYST is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented
Senior Technical Writer to develop and maintain user and technical documentation, as well as project process documentation for Application Teams for our client in
Austin, Texas. The ideal candidate understands both the technical aspects of applications and the user perspective, allowing them to translate complex information into clear, organized, and accessible documentation. This role requires a strong ability to write a variety of technical materials including manuals, reports, brochures, and training guides. The Technical Writer may also coordinate the layout and production of graphics and other document design elements.

Job Location: Austin, TX (Fully Onsite)Please Note: Position is ONSITE at Austin Texas (NO REMOTE WORK). Program will only accept LOCAL candidates only for this position.
Responsibilities: - Develop, edit, and maintain documentation for applications, systems, and business processes.
- Organize procedures and technical concepts in a logical and user-friendly sequence.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, developers, and stakeholders to gather and validate content.
- Ensure all documentation complies with applicable laws, policies, and standards.
- Create content using Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
- Interpret Texas Vital Statistics laws, policies, procedures, and regulations for inclusion in documentation.
- Coordinate document production, including visual content and layout.
- Maintain version control and ensure accuracy and clarity in all documentation.
Minimum Requirements: - At least 8 years of experience interpreting Texas Vital Statistics laws, policies, procedures, and regulations.
- At least 8 years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio).
- At least 8 years of experience with business analysis methodologies.
- At least 8 years of experience analyzing and evaluating complex IT applications, policies, and issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with both individuals and groups.
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative and independent judgment in organizing tasks and managing priorities.
- Experience directing and coordinating the work of others as needed.
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships and handle high-pressure situations professionally.
- Strong skills in reading and interpreting material to prepare clear and concise reports or summaries.
- Ability to gather, organize, and analyze facts, recommend solutions, and resolve issues.
- Ability to provide accurate work estimates and monitor task progress effectively.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both on the phone and in person.
- Must be able to read cursive handwriting.
