JAS is currently seeking a Senior Human Resources Specialist who will focus on Labor Management & Recruitment HR responsibilities within the Contract Logistics division Human Resources team. The position is a hybrid role and must have flexibility to work in office a couple times a week. The office is located at 1100 Thorndale Ave, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007. Must have the ability to succeed in a highly independent and self-motivated environment. Must have experience in HR analytics, Labor Management, and Talent Acquisition.
SUMMARY:
This role will work within the Contract Logistics Human Resources team, with a focus on recruitment and labor management responsibilities within the contract logistics operation. The role will oversee all matters related to temporary labor management including contract administration, daily labor reporting, and agency relationship management. The role will also complete recruitment for the contract logistics group, including developing recruitment plans, partnering with hiring managers to identify talent needs, sourcing and screening candidates, conducting interviews, negotiating compensation packages, and managing the full recruitment lifecycle to attract and hire top talent for the division.
JOB DUTIES:
Labor Management
• Identifying and vetting local and national temporary staffing providers as needed or requested by local contract logistics managers, or by the VP Operations at a national level, based on current service and performance gaps
• Working alongside branch management and the JAS legal team to execute agreements with temporary staffing providers
• Maintaining a positive relationship with temporary staffing providers throughout the contract logistics network
• Facilitating quarterly business reviews with temporary staffing providers to monitor agency performance and opportunities for additional business or service enhancements
• Generating reports and updating the labor board tracker with hours worked by temporary staffing associates, as well as JAS contract logistics employees, to ensure labor costs are captured and tracked daily
• Maintaining the accuracy of the labor board tracker and working with the IT Power BI team on any troubleshooting or error corrections
Recruitment
• Completing position intake calls with hiring managers regarding open positions
• Creating job descriptions for new roles and/or updating existing job descriptions for posting based on specific local requirements
• Providing hiring managers with compensation and job title recommendations based on duties and market research
• Obtaining necessary approvals on all requested positions before initiating recruitment efforts
• Opening job requisitions through Workday and posting open positions through Workday/other recruitment sources to generate candidate interest, while actively recruiting for candidates via sources like Indeed, LinkedIn, and others
• Screening for top talent by reviewing all applications, completing phone interviews, and implementing additional screening measures as needed, to provide high quality candidate recommendations to hiring manager
• Organizing interviews with the hiring team and candidates
• Obtaining necessary approvals for candidate offer once a candidate has been identified for the role
• Extending employment offers to prospective hires and generating offer paperwork for review and signature
• Initiating background checks within the ADP system, and following up with prospective hires on any background check results that require additional vetting before hire
• Entering hires into both the ADP and the Workday HRIS systems
• Working with hiring managers to complete onboarding plans for new hires
• Ensuring new hires complete the JAS orientation and providing additional orientation training focused on contract logistics operations
• Completing 30-60-90 day check-ins with new hires and hiring managers regarding their employment progress and acclimation into the JAS organization
Other
• Executing other assigned Human Resources projects as part of the overall JAS USA Human Resources team
• Performing additional duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 5+ years of experience in recruitment; must have background completing entire talent acquisition life cycle
• Experience working staffing agency relationship management
• Proficiency in data analysis
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong customer service and relationship development background
• Experience in ADP and Workday HRIS
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience with Power BI a plus
• Experience within the logistics or supply chain industry a plus
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• College degree or equivalent experience, preferably with a focus on Human Resources
