The Wasatch Charter School (WCS) seeks an Executive Director (ED) to lead our school. Reporting to the WCS Board of Directors, primary ED responsibilities focus on driving longer-term strategies to preserve and proactively refine the guiding principles that will drive organizational excellence for years to come. The ED collaborates with faculty and pedagogical staff, teaching assistants, an administrative team, and facilities. In the existing role, the ED leads an administrative team of 3-5 with a total staff of 120. Candidates are expected to demonstrate strategic and business acumen, empathetic communication and collaborative capacity. Perhaps most importantly, the candidate should hold a deep respect and appreciation for Waldorf educational philosophy and the Waldorf approach to education.

Education Requirements:
Minimum: Master’s Degree, or higher, in Relevant Field
Preferred: Waldorf Teacher Training or Equivalent Administrative Training / Certificate Teacher Licensure
General Description: As a full time member of the Wasatch Charter School faculty and a leader within the school community, the Executive Director is responsible for leading a group of individuals whose foundation in pedagogy is based on the Waldorf School model guided by the principles taught by Rudolf Steiner and reflected in the Core Principles of Public Waldorf Education.The school’s Executive Director is responsible for the daily operations of the school and progress towards realizing the school’s mission and vision. The Executive Director serves a leadership and coordinating function with authority delegated from the Governing Board to ensure compliance, to hire and terminate employees, to oversee programs and operations, and to create a positive school culture. The Executive Director directly supervises, mentors, and evaluates the other directors and works along-side them to supervise, mentor and evaluate all employees.

To be a mature, balanced and well-educated member of society requires an awareness of one’s place in the world and of the personal capabilities within each individual.
