Summary

Perseid, the signature dining experience at Hotel Saint Augustine, is seeking a Pastry Cook to assist in creating high-quality desserts and baked goods. This role is ideal for someone passionate about pastry arts, eager to refine their skills, and dedicated to delivering beautifully crafted, flavorful pastries. The Pastry Cook will work closely with the Pastry Chef to prepare a variety of desserts, from plated creations to bread and pastries, ensuring consistency and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and breads following established recipes and techniques.

• Assist in the assembly and plating of desserts for service, ensuring presentation meets restaurant standards.

• Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices to maintain a clean and organized pastry station.

• Work closely with the Pastry Chef to develop new recipes and refine existing ones.

• Monitor ingredient quality and assist in managing pastry inventory and ordering supplies.

• Maintain efficiency during high-volume service periods while upholding quality standards.

• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure seamless coordination with the restaurant’s overall menu.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous experience as a Pastry Cook, Baker, or Line Cook in a restaurant, bakery, or hotel setting preferred.

• Knowledge of fundamental pastry techniques, including dough preparation, chocolate work, and dessert plating.

• Strong attention to detail and passion for presentation and flavors.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills.

• Culinary or pastry school education is a plus but not required.

• Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
